June 7 Venue: Doltone House Hyde Park, Sydney ASMR members from the Hunter are invited to join our Sydney-based members for a convivial evening celebrating health and medical research. The dinner will feature a talk by the 2023 ASMR Medalist, Dr Manu Platt. Dr Platt is the inaugural director of the US-based NIH-wide Center for Biomedical Engineering Technology Acceleration. His research addresses health disparities in the US and global health concerns. Dr Platt is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of scientists and directs Project ENGAGES- providing paid research opportunities for African-American high school students. His commitment to diversity and inclusion has earned him recognition as an Emerging Scholar by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine. Ticket Sales now open!
