Membership tiers of the ASMR

Members: Those persons who are or have been engaged in the practice of medical research, including postgraduate students.
Student/overseas/retired members: Persons whose income is less than $50,000/annum due to the fact that they are either studying full time in the area of medical research, currently working as a medical researcher overseas or retired from medical research.
Honorary Life members: Persons who have made outstanding contributions to the health and medical research effort in Australia. Must be nominated by the Board of Directors and elected at an Annual General Meeting by the affirmative vote of three‑quarters of the Members present and voting.
Undergraduate Subscriber members
Affiliated members: Other Societies/Institutions/Medical Colleges whose membership is wholly or partly engaged in the practice of health and medical research.
Associate members: Foundations and Patient Support Groups.
Supporting members: Companies and organisations with an interest in health and medical research who support the objectives of the ASMR.

Would you like to renew your ASMR membership?

Invoices containing payment links are automatically emailed to existing ASMR members in late April each year.

ASMR’s Membership Fee structure has changed!

ASMR has introduced a simplified fee structure, which will apply from 15 December 2025:

standard membership fee: $170 per annum;
student, retired and overseas members receive a 50% discount, i.e., $85 per annum;
three-year memberships will receive a 5% discount, i.e., $484.50 and $242.25

All prices are inclusive of GST, but online payments do incur a processing fee. If you would prefer to pay by direct deposit, please contact katriona@asmr.org.au to obtain an invoice.

PLEASE NOTE:
If you joined ASMR before 1 July 2025: your renewal date will continue to be 30 June each year. However, if your membership lapses at any time, then your renewal date will become the date on which you renew your membership.

If you joined ASMR after 30 June 2025: your renewal date will be the anniversary of joining ASMR.
