As well as celebrating the best and brightest researchers in our state, the dinner will feature a talk by the 2024 ASMR Medalist, Professor Matt Dun. Prof Dun is a Paediatric Oncology researcher whose career took a deeply personal turn when his young daughter was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour. In Josephine’s memory, Professor Dun has tirelessly pursued breakthroughs in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) research while advocating for patients and their families. Renowned for his captivating speaking, Professor Dun’s poignant narrative connects his profound personal experience with professional expertise, serving as a timely reminder of why the work we do is so important.
